In
addition to lacking resources for obtaining the benefits
of higher education, statistics show that the majority
of
misfortunate
children
are most vulnerable to becoming victims of a number of
abuses in the course of childhood as well as dependant on
welfare and other assistance as they themselves fall into
the cycle of misfortune.
Misfortunate
children are
statistically at a higher risk because of their
environment and lack of financial resources, to resort to
criminal behavior as a means of survival and peer support
which often result in
incarceration.
In
researching generations of cycles of behavior that
results in
misfortune (including negligence on the part of the
American public and government agencies and legislators
who rather than address the causes
of
misfortune
to
break
the cycles of misfortunate
behavior and abuse of indigent
children), have by ignoring the problem,
has enabled a problem that is
preventable.
We believe
that America's children are a vital resource for
America's future which requires an investment
for America's
future; that
rather than a liability and drain on American taxpayer
resources, if given adequate tools and resources for a
level playing field and higher
education misfortunate children and families could
be free from the cycles of uncommon behavior and
proud contributing members of the American
Community.
Due to
historic changes in our
economy a
record number in our population has fallen into the
statistical status of
misfortune
consisting
of young people and families of multicultural communities
who will no longer be able to afford the opportunity for
higher education; many of whom will tumble into the
cycles and vulnerability to abuses and dependencies
commonly associated with misfortunate
circumstances.
