One of the
cornerstones of our treatment program is working with the
parents and families of the children we serve, helping moms and
dads learn how to parent differently than what they experienced
as children.
In this
way, PAAC is able to ensure that before the
children conclude their therapy and treatment, positive changes
have occurred within the family unit, thus helping to break the
cycle of abuse. Help us win the fight to eredicate child abuse
and neglect from our society.
For the
children who are able to remain in the home but in need of an
intensive treatment and an educational program, our
Day Treatment Program is
available as an alternative to out-of-home placement. out
therapeutic milieu combines a special education curriculum with
consistent structured interventions by behavior
specialists.
It also
helps children with behavioral problems learn new skills that
help them to better function in a public school or the
community. A collaborative effort with families and community
agencies ensures a successful transition back into the
community.
Challenge by Choice Summer
Program: This program focuses on creating an
experiential education environment outside the classroom.
Children have the opportunity to participate in a summer
journey that helps them reach their highest
potential.
Helping
abused children overcome poor self-esteem, low self-confidence,
the inability to build appropriate social relationships, and
poor sportmanship is paramount to the healing
process.
The
Challenge by Choice adventure-based program provides
new and different experiences while incorporating traditional
education including canoeing, rafting, camping, service
projects and hiking.
